The basics

What is MyTripQuote?
MyTripQuote is a marketplace that connects travelers with travel providers. A traveler posts what they need (flights or a hotel stay), providers send priced offers, and the traveler picks the one they like. We don't book travel, and we don't hold or process money for travel.
Do you book my trip or take my payment?
No. When you accept an offer, you and the provider arrange the booking and the payment directly with each other. MyTripQuote never charges you for travel.
Does it cost anything for travelers?
No. Posting a request, getting offers and chatting with providers are free for travelers.
How does it work?
1. Post your trip. Add where and when you want to go, and any details that matter to you.
2. Providers respond. They send priced offers. You can ask questions in the conversation attached to each offer.
3. Accept and go. Choose the offer you want. After you accept, contact details are shared so you and the provider can finish the booking directly.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You can sign in with Google or with an email and password. To post a request you'll need to confirm your email address first.

For travelers

How do I post a trip request?
Sign in and tap Post My Trip. Choose flights or a stay, fill in the details, and choose how long your request stays open. You can pick a few days up to 30 days, or set your own.
What happens after I post?
Providers can see your request and send offers. You'll get a notification when an offer arrives (see "How do notifications work?" below). A provider may include several options in one offer, so you can compare them side by side.
How do I choose an offer?
Open your request, look through the offers, and ask any provider a question in their conversation. When you're ready, tap accept on the one you want. If a provider sent several options in one offer, you accept one of them, and the other options from that offer are removed.
When do I get the provider's contact details?
Only after you accept their offer. Until then, please keep contact details out of the conversation. This keeps both sides safe and the marketplace fair.
What if I change my mind after accepting?
Accepting an offer is a commitment: you are committing to book with that provider, and the provider may be charged a fee when you accept. So please only accept if you intend to go ahead, and ask any questions in the chat first. The booking itself, including any later changes, cancellations or refunds, is then arranged directly with the provider, so ask about their policy before you pay.
Who can see my request and my name?
Providers see your first name and last initial, not your email or phone number. Your trip details and conversations are visible to you, the provider involved, and our administrators for support and safety.
What happens if a request or an offer expires?
Requests and offers have an expiry. An expired request is no longer shown to providers, and an expired offer can't be accepted. You can always post a new request.

For providers

How do I become a provider?
Choose to join as a provider when you sign up and fill in the short application. We review each one and approve it, which usually takes a short while. We'll email you when there's a decision. If it isn't approved, we'll tell you why when we can.
What does "Verified travel agent" or "Verified travel expert" mean?
It means we reviewed information the provider gave us. It is not a guarantee of any offer, price, licence or service, so travelers should still check who they deal with.
Why do I need to verify my phone number?
Providers confirm a mobile number with a one-time text code before sending offers. It helps prevent spam and fake accounts. The number isn't shown to travelers.
What does it cost to be a provider?
Providers pay a fee only when a traveler accepts one of their offers. It's one credit per accepted offer, and credits are prepaid. Current prices are shown when you buy credits, and the details are in our Terms. Browsing requests and sending offers don't use credits. A credit is used only when an offer is accepted.
Are there free months or free credits?
Travel agents get free months at the start, with the chance to earn more as their offers are accepted by different travelers during the first 6 months. Approved providers who aren't travel agents receive one welcome credit, once per phone number. The exact rules are in our Terms.
What if I run out of credits?
You can still browse requests and fill in an offer. When you tap send without credits, we'll tell you and show you how to buy more, and your draft is saved while you do.
Can I offer more than one option in one offer?
Yes. You can add another option to the same offer and send them together. The traveler picks one. A credit is used only when one is accepted, and the other options from that offer are then removed.
Can I control when travelers can accept my offers?
Yes. In My account, set the hours when your offers can be accepted, so a traveler can't accept while you're unavailable.
Can I get alerts for new requests?
Yes. Set up alerts for the routes or places you cover and we'll tell you when a matching request is posted.
Can I get a refund on credits?
Credit purchases are final except where the law requires otherwise. If we decide a booking shouldn't have been charged, we may add credits to your account. You can see your balance and every transaction under Billing in My account.

Safety, privacy and problems

Is it safe to use?
We take care to keep the marketplace honest: provider applications are reviewed, contact details stay private until a deal is accepted, and we can suspend accounts that break the rules. But MyTripQuote doesn't guarantee any traveler or provider, so please check who you're dealing with, including any licences or registrations they hold, and read what you're agreeing to before you pay.
Why can't I share my phone number or email in the chat?
Before an offer is accepted, contact details can't be shared. This protects travelers from unwanted contact and keeps the marketplace fair. After you accept, they're unlocked.
What if something goes wrong with a booking or a person?
Use the report option in the conversation or booking to tell us what happened, or contact us. We review reports and can take action on accounts. Conversations with an open report are kept until it's resolved.
What happens to my messages and files?
Chat messages and files are deleted about 6 months after your trip ends. We keep a basic record of each booking. Our Privacy Policy has the full details, and we don't sell your personal information.
How do notifications work?
In My account, you can turn on notifications for new offers, accepted offers and messages. On iPhone, first add MyTripQuote to your Home Screen (Share, then Add to Home Screen), then open it from there and turn notifications on. We also email you about important activity.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, tap the forgot password link and enter your email. We'll send you a reset link. If it doesn't arrive in a few minutes, check your spam folder.
How do I change my name or delete my account?
You can edit your name in My account. To delete your account, contact us and we'll help.
How do I reach you?
Use the contact form, or call or text (864) 697-8683 (864-MYQUOTE).
